Email settings and webmail
If we host your Email account(s) you can access your inbox by visiting your Studio Whitby client page. From this page you can check your Email using the popular web client - Roundcube. If you would like to use your Email account on a local client such as Apple Mail or the Windows 10 Mail application please contact us for the settings required.
Updating your website
If you have chosen to use our content management software to edit or add content to your website you will have received a customised “welcome to your website” document detailing how to log-in and use the software. If for some reason you don’t have this document you can download a copy from your Studio Whitby client page.
If you need access to your website quickly then load up your website, enter "/perch/" after the domain name and press enter - this will take you to a login page where you can enter your username and password sent to you along with the "welcome to your website" document. If you don't have your username or password to hand, click the forgotten password link on the login page, enter the Email address associated with your account and a password reset will be Emailed to you.
Website performance and analytics
We supply access to a live site statistics dashboard allowing you to monitor your site in real-time - this includes visitor numbers, page views, top content and referring links. The dashboard is a service offered to all our hosting customers and can be accessed through a dedicated client page.
All Website hosting at Studio Whitby is a managed service, meaning that server maintenance, domain name, back-ups, Email accounts, security and software updates are all included - so that you can be confident your website will be available, secure and online. Our current annual charge for managed hosting is £99 with the first 12 months included free with all new web design and development projects.
The majority of our graphic design projects include printing. We use a professional commercial printer based in Nottinghamshire and can offer turnaround times of between 2 and 7 business days from design sign off, depending on the print type. We can also supply press ready PDF files to a supplied print spec.
We offer free FedEx tracked delivery on all our print orders, or if your business is located in Whitby you can collect from the Design Studio or arrange a suitable time for us to deliver to your home or business address.
All our print design projects go through a proof reading process here at the Design Studio. We do however encourage our clients to read through our final proof file too - as we can't be held liable for any mistakes once a design has been signed off
We accept the following forms of payment:
• Bank Transfer (Preferred)
• Credit / Debit card (chip and pin or over the telephone)
• Online payment (Credit / Debit card or Paypal account)
As a small company we are not VAT registered so any amount shown on a quote or invoice is the total amount payable - there is no VAT to be added
Charges for design or development work
When quoting for a new graphic design or web design / development project we will ask you to fill out a quick quote request form which provides us with a design brief to work from. We usually quote as a fixed cost in relation to this brief as we find this is the fairest way of providing an accurate price. The more detail you can go into when filling in the quote request form the more competitive quote we are likely to be able to offer you.
We require a 30% deposit before any work begins. The remaining 70% balance is payable on project completion. For any work outside the scope of the original brief we charge £25.00 p/h or alternatively we would be happy to re-quote the project with the extra work included. You need to agree to our standard terms and conditions as well which is done when paying our deposit invoice.

For ongoing or open-ended work it may be beneficial to book our services on a retainer. We offer retainers under our Virtual Studio service charged at £25 p/m + hours at our standard rate, you can use hours as and when you need design work completing. Our retainer gives you the flexibility and convenience of having a professional designer on-hand throughout the working week.
Studio Whitby is based at the Green Lane Business Centre in Whitby, North Yorkshire. We're open 9am - 5pm and while the Studio is often manned during this time we do ask that you call us beforehand on 01947 899120. We can also offer out of hours appointments or arrange to visit you in your home or place of business.
